About the People For Puget Sound Program

Washington Environmental Council is a nonprofit statewide advocacy organization that has been driving positive change to solve Washington’s most critical environmental challenges since 1967.

Our People For Puget Sound program protects and restores the Sound through the work of strong and diverse coalitions, focused on reducing the biggest threats to Puget Sound: polluted stormwater runoff and the risk of a catastrophic oil spill. We advocate improving water quality and restoring and protecting habitat critical to the recovery of Puget Sound species by leading the call for renewed and enhanced commitment from the public and political to save the Sound.
